About us:
The Direct Plastics Group. is one of Canada’s leading printers and converters of flexible packaging. Direct Plastics is a privately held company, founded in 1988 by two partners. Nico Films Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Direct Plastics Ltd. Today, Craig Harris, one of the founding partners is the President and C.E.O of the company.

- In 1992, Nico Films Inc. was started and the company purchased it’s first of 4 blown film extruders.
- In 1995, Flexidesign Printing was started when the company purchased its first stack flexographic printing press. Over the next three years two more central impression flexographic presses were added.
- In 2000 the company purchased a fully computerized Deacro slitter.
- In 2001 the company purchased a Thema, 6 colour stack flexographic press to expand into the Lawn & Garden market.
- In 2002 management recognized the potential for growth and began a strategic planning process intended to guide the company through milestones to growth targets.
- In support of the strategic plan, the company purchased an 8 colour, gearless, sleeved Comexi flexographic press with the ability to push the organization to the forefront of print technology, an Amplas bottom seal side gusset bag machine to make serious inroads in the Lawn & Garden and Ice melt market and a wide web solventless laminator.
